He returned to the stage for the first time in 15 years in Six and a Tanner at Oran Mor (2006). Discovered young Scottish actor, James McAvoy, according to McAvoy in a recent interview broadcast on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Hayman did a talk at McAvoy's school and after McAvoy thanked Hayman for sharing his insight into his long and interesting career, Hayman later asked McAvoy to audition for a role and, as McAvoy said, he "got the part.".
